Ozzie Mozzie Zapper Doesn’t Really Trap Mosquitoes

When you’re dealing with mosquitoes and other flying bugs, finding something that really works can be tough. Ozzie Mozzie is currently trending online as the perfect zapper to keep mosquitoes away from your home. I’ve come across lots of devices like this claiming to be the perfect fit to trap mosquitoes. But does it work?

Do mosquitoe zappers work? Recently I bought Mozz Guard which was not a total disappointment. Here is my review after the use of this particular zapper.

About Ozzie Mozzie

Ozzie Mozzie is a mosquito zapper that makes use of UV to attract and trap mosquitoes, bugs and all sorts of flying insects.
This light works best at night when there’s no sunlight around, or in dark, shady areas where mosquitoes hang out during the day.

Testing the mosquito zapper

I bought 3-pack of the Ozzie Mozzie zapper, hoping to get rid of mosquitoes on my porch. First of all, I made the mistake of ordering it from the website instead of from Amazon. Because of this, it took 3 weeks to arrive and it came from China.

Unfortunately, they didn’t work as expected. I placed two of them in an area with lots of mosquitoes, but out of the 40 insects killed, none were mosquitoes. I tried a few times, but got the same results each time. It seems like they’re good for catching moths and lacewings, but not mosquitoes.

I do think the advertisements make a bunch of untrue claims. I wish they had simply stuck to calling it an ‘Insect Zapper’ instead of mosquito zapper.

Yes the Ozzie Mozzie Mosquito Zapper work, but not on Mosquitoes. Over all, I noticed that very few mosquitoes were caught or killed (only about 2 per day), while the devices were often full of dead moths. So, it seems like they don’t work well on mosquitoes.

Pros

  1. Easy to use, easy to charge

Cons

  1. Does not really work as advertised
  2. They more are issues with shipping
  3. The company is not true to their refund policies

Could It be a Scam?

It’s not a scam perse, but false advertising. Why claim it could trap mosquitoes when it works on moths and other insects but nor on mosquitoes?

Following lots of customer complaints online, I found out the company changed their name from Ozzie Home to Ozzie Mozzie because their reviews were very poor. Also, the product is far from being Australian, is made in China. Then there’s the problem of worst customer service and no refunds.

How To Use

  1. Put the device where you want to use it.
  2. Leave it on for at least 2 hours.
  3. This will help get rid of mosquitoes and other flying bugs in that area.

Would I Recommend this Mosquito Trap?

I honestly wouldn’t recommend Ozzie Mozzie if you’ve a mosquito problem. However, if you’re looking to kill other insects like bugs and moths, it works well. However, you could find this exact zapper on AliExpress for a fraction of the cost.
