There is an ongoing Scam Text claiming to be from Bank Of America. Telling recipients that they received a request to change your password. Beware! It is a scam.

Currently, more than hundred people have complained of receiving this Bank Of America Scam Text Messages this June 2023. The text contains a malicious link that aims to steal your personal and financial information.

It a text sent by scammers that want to get your personal information so they can use it to scam you. The scammers tells recipients that they received a request to change your password and if you did not request for the change of password, you should click on a provided link. Beware! It is a scam.

Don’t be deceived. Don’t dare adhere to the requests. It’s all Scam! The text messages most times contain viruses, spywares, malwares, which are harmful to devices and can hack and destroy your mobile phone.

The link in the text message redirects you to other phishing websites that trick victims and also hack their personal information. This happens when you click on the link.

How To Know Similar Scam Text

  • The message creates a sense of urgency to get you to act quickly. For example, it may claim that your bank account has been closed or that you’ve won a free gift. 
  • Next, the scammer will try to get you to either respond, click on a link, or call a number or send a message to an email.
  • You aren’t expecting a delivery from this company. 
  • The text message comes from a long or unusual phone number. 
  • The link in the text is obscured or doesn’t come from an official companies like PayPal, Costco, USPS, UPS, FedEx website etc.

You should delete the text message immediately as it is obviously a phishing scam. Meanwhile, do not forget to inform your family and friends. Please they should not click on the link if and when they receive such message.
