Universal Credit Services Settlement: Scam Or Legit? Find Out

Did you receive the Universal Credit Services Settlement email? It’s not a scam.

Universal Credit Services agreed to pay $225,000 to settle claims that it broke federal credit laws by wrongly saying that living people were dead on their credit reports.

Who Is Eligible For The Universal Credit Services Settlement

Basically, if you were included in a credit report that used Universal Credit Services’ old system between April 8, 2020, and Oct. 13, 2023, and it said you were dead, you could benefit from this settlement. But there’s a catch – the report had to include a credit score from one of the credit agencies, and there had to be some activity on your credit account within 180 days of the report.

How Much Is The Settlement

Universal Credit Services didn’t admit they did anything wrong, but they agreed to settle the FCRA class action lawsuit for $225,000. If you happen to be a part of the class, you could get a piece of that money. The lawyers think each person might get about $194, but it could be more or less depending on how many people join in and any costs taken out of the settlement fund.

How To File A Claim

If you are eligible, fill out a valid claim form before the deadline on April 13, 2024.
