LensCrafters have gone for a $39 million settlement in a class action lawsuit. Apparently, some statements they made about their AccuFit Digital System were not quite on the level.
Who Is Eligible For The LensCrafters AccuFit False Advertising Settlement
if you’re a U.S. resident who bought prescription eyeglasses from LensCrafters between September 5, 2013, and September 20, 2023, after getting the AccuFit treatment, you’re part of the settlement class.
Now, the whole deal started because someone claimed that LensCrafters didn’t play by the rules. They said LensCrafters made some big claims about their AccuFit system that didn’t quite add up, like saying it was “five times more precise” and could measure down to a tenth of a millimeter. But turns out, their manufacturing process didn’t actually match up to that fancy 0.1mm specification.
How Much Is The Settlement
LensCrafters is saying they didn’t do anything wrong. But to settle things, they’re ready to make payments.
if you’re in the class and you send in a valid claim, you can get some cash from the settlement fund. For each pair of prescription eyeglasses you bought from LensCrafters during the class period, you can get up to $50. Keep in mind, though, if there are more claims than money available.
