International Parcel Service Scam Text- Beware!

Received a text claiming ‘We tried to deliver your parcel IPS016448296CA, but there is an unpaid customs fee? Read This Review to know what you should do.

The text message claims you have a package From IPS and you should proceed to a website, which looks suspicious from this end.

The text message goes this way-

From IEIPS-SMS: “016448296GB

“We tried to deliver your parcel IPS016448296CA, but there is an unpaid customs fee. Please follow the instructions here: 08o.me/Xw1OZ”

So far we have received the fake messages from the following telephone numbers:

  • 44 7541 935901
  • (216) 532-9084

You shouldn’t click on it! It’s very dangerous, you might lose your personal information by clicking on such links from random text. It is likely a scam, because lots of people got such messages at the same time.

What Should You Do If You Receive Messages Like This

No matter how convincing it make sound, we advise you not to call the number or click the link, or attempt to send a message to the number. This is because once you do so, they would find a way to convince you to send money or your personal information.

  1. I recieved it from +61423769125. I clicked on the first link, but then I stopped. There was another fild (follow or something ) that i was supposed to click. I hope, I guess they don`t have all my Data yet.
    It is so enoying. It could have just happen as my husband told me he would recieve 3 boxes and he had given my phone contact:-(

    1. Just got it from +351 926510372, “tracking no.” IPS839204972PT. Good thing I tried to find out if these guys were legit!
      They were trying to get me to pay a 2€ customs fee on an order to be delivered on a Sunday!

      1. Received as well, from the telephone (351)938890934, giving the code IPS5839204972PT. Fell for it hook, line and sink and now am in the middle of a freakout, cancelling the card and homebanking access. It only got me because I was exactly expecting news about a package from UK…

        1. Eu recebi a mesma mensagem com o mesmo código IPS(…).
          Cliquei e preenchi tudo mas depois cancelei quando era para preencher os dados do cartão bancário. Poderão mesmo assim fazer alguma coisa?

  3. I got this message from “+351937814431” and the message said “Recebemos seu item hoje em nosso centro de encaminhamento. Por favor, resolva aqui”. What is a translation to Portuguese clearly from google translator because it is linguistically poorly constructed.

    1. the text means “we have received your item today in our distribution center. Please, resolve it here.”
      quite possibly it is a scam

  5. Received a text msg today…July 17, 2021…Fortunately, I realized it might be a scam and failed to respond to it. Also, I was NOT expecting a parcel from anywhere.

  6. Received one from 017295161089, replied asking for a way to pay for the fee at the depot and didn’t receive an answer. The message is incomplete and it doesn’t give you any tracking number, no address, no nothing, so it is a scam. Be careful
