Coatlondon.com Review- Redflags Discovered

In as much as the well designed platform of this store would make you think they are the real deal, the truth however remains that some fraudulent online stores do pay huge money to have their ecommerce platform look standard and convincing. This is because they know what they stand to gain by looking topnotch.

During our in-depth investigation, we discovered the following cons of this Online Store.

Anonymous Lots

After a thorough background search on who the owner/owners of this store is, we came up with absolutely nothing. This could be an indication that the people behind this online store don’t have genuine intentions.

Zero Social Media Presence

We always warn our readers to buy from stores with well grounded social media presence. This is because you can easily reach out to them in any of their platforms. On Coatlondon.com there is no link leading to their Facebook page.

Even when we checked on Facebook, we discovered there is no page related to the online store.

No Review Section

We always advise our readers to shop from online stores were there are five star options for people who have shopped from the store. That way, you can easily find out if your predecessors were satisfied or not.

Unbelievable Discount

This store is selling its products for unbelievable prices. This is one of the traits of fraudulent online stores. The low price being offered is a lethal weapon that might leave you in tears or regrets.

No Return Address

There is no address given in the returns policy where you can return the product. We find this worrying. However, it could also be that this is a drop shipping website.

If you have been scammed by these lots, we advise you to immediately file a report with your bank. This would stop these lots from tampering with your account details in the future.

  1. Put an order for £140 worth of sales items in on Sunday last weekend after seeing an advert for “Coat London” on Facebook. Website looked legitimate and the advert had comments on it from customers describing successful purchases some time previously.

I was sent a code to track the items which are currently located in China… There were covid related warnings put up on the site after I made the purchase explaining that delays to shipping are likely.

After making this purchase there were several other adverts from different brands all selling exactly the same jackets that I had seen on Coat London.

I”m now convinced this is a scam unfortunately.

    1. Just placed an order here, and also got a wierd tracking number linking me to a Chinese site. Lets hope for the best…

      1. I’ve just received my coat from them today (15th April) I originally ordered it on March 31st.. It is absolutely nothing like the coat advertised! Only similarity is the colour. It was meant to be the Soho wool trench coat, which in the picture advertised looks fantastic. It’s not the same shape, style or quality. Poor fit, threads coming off it all over the place eg around the buttons and stitching etc.. So basically it’ll turn up, but don’t expect it to look anything like the piece of clothing you originally picked!

    2. I got my items from the site. Took two weeks. However sizes are a bit off. Two M size jackets but they are not the same size. So I think you get your items but I dunno about the quality. Wait and see.

  2. I made two orders from coatlondon.com I made two seperate orders. Two different coats. I did got both orders. I had to wait two weeks. As others mentioned they came from China. I’ll guess from the factory not from US. Overall quality is ok. Both coats were same model(different color) and size M but they were not the same size. Other size M was smaller and the other size M bigger. Markings are in Chinese language not English. So if you order you get your items but don’t expect super quality.

  3. I ordered a laptop bag from these guys. Received it today. It is nothing like what they said it was. I received a small tiny handbag of extremely poor quality, nothing like the real leather they advertised. To make it worse, the bag they gave me isn’t even a laptop bag, its no bigger than a handbag. In the photos they had shown that you could fit two laptops, books, and other business accessories, but its clear when you see the bag it is impossible to fit any size laptop bag inside. You would be lucky to fit two ipads inside.

  4. Ordered a coat and some shoes. Got separate deliveres from China after 2-3 weeks. The products are different from what is advertised and of quite mediocre quality. I would never have spent the €140 on something like this if I had known. I am usually a cautious buyer but I realize that I was put off guard by the very solid-looking webpage that I found via a Facebook ad.

  5. I placed an order then I asked to cancel. They begged me to keep the jacket and issued a 50% refund if I kept the jacket. Seemed pretty sketchy but they also provided a return address should I went to return it. Would see when the jacket comes

  6. I am happy with my order from Coat London. I ordered 3 wool coats, navy, red, and tan. Took 2 weeks, I was given a tracking number from Yanwen China. When it got to my country then I got another tracking number for our local Postal Service.

I am 180cm and 86kg so ordered Large like the website recommended. Fits perfectly! The sleeves are the perfect length for my arms and the shoulders fit well too. The waist is slimming, yet roomy enough I can wear a sweater.

Quality is good, the stitching is tight, no loose threads, the wool feels soft but durable.

They look good, they feel good on, and it was a good deal.

    I would buy again.

  7. I ordered an item a few weeks ago, it did arrive, it just took a while. The sizing is awful and quality is amongst the worst I’ve ever seen. Clearly a very cheaply made garment, and there’s absolutely zero chance this was ever priced at the supposed original price.

    Avoid.

  8. I got my delivery of an XXL coat, not made in UK or with local materials as suggested but shipped from China, so unless they make it in the UK and ship it back and forth that’s the 1st issue. It arrived and was clearly a very poor product, poor materials, poor manufacture & 3 weeks or so from order. The coat itself must be modelled on a very slim XXL with incredibly short arms. I complained & was offered 33% discount if I kept the coat, I refused and was offered 50% if I kept the coat, eventually they came up with a return address in California. The scam is to send you a worthless garment, attempt to get card details for a refund or just hope you’ll keep it when the postage costs are so high to return it.
Credit card Co. do t want to know about it either.

  9. Bought 3 of the cheaper jackets on 7th April and arrived on 5th May. It was stuck on the same message on the tracking for about 4 weeks, presumably waiting to be shipped in from China. Once it arrived in the country however, it arrived extremely quickly. Was expecting a 2 week wait but was 4 and a half weeks total.

As for the jackets, it’s a real mix. I’m glad I bought the cheaper ones because from the comments the more expensive ones sound worthless. I bought all 3 large and they were all approximately the same size/fitting – probably slightly smaller than a traditional large jacket but all wearable. The design on a couple of them are a bit iffy in places, and one in particular is quite poor on quality (paper thin), but overall it wasn’t as bad as I expected. I would have been a happy customer if I paid half the prices I did because as I said, they are wearable, just not worth the price you pay. Having said that, I really like one of them (the cheapest in fact) and seems to be of the best quality out of the 3.

Anybody else who is thinking of buying from coatlondon – it isn’t a total scam because depending on what you order, you can receive wearable well fitting items, however, at a significantly higher price than they are worth. You’ll also have to accept waiting quite a while for them to arrive. And go for the cheaper ones if you fancy your chances.

  10. I been hood winked on this I brought as coat weeks ago they said it been dispatched a number come up of delivery driver it turns out it a premium number. Nothing. I’m glad brought it by card to get my money back

  11. Just got mine. Shocking quality and nothing like the advertisement.. I am going to try to return it but am not holding out any hope. I didn’t realise this was a Chinese scam store and will not fall for this again.

  12. This website is rubbish. There is NOTHING London or British about this label. The styling is obviously ‘knocked off’ from pictures on line from another site. Materials are absolute rubbish, the manufacturing poor, and the only label is in Chinese. What a rip off!
