This settlement helps out people whose Social Security numbers were compromised in a CafePress data breach back in 2019. The FTC took legal action against CafePress in 2022, accusing them of not taking proper steps to secure sensitive data and even trying to hide the breach afterward instead of letting people know.

How Much Is Settlement

CafePress agreed to pay $500,000 as part of a settlement with the FTC. However, Some of this money will go to affected consumers. Right now, there’s no deadline for opting out or objecting to the settlement.
