Permatan: What is it?

It is a tanning nasal spray that leverages the skin’s natural facultative tanning potential through use of biomimetics. It also works with a drop for faster results. According to the website, Permatan is for all skin types, both pale & ginger, and the result is permanent.

Sounds interesting right? But is it really safe?

How To Use

  1. spray into the nasal cavity by inserting the nozzle into the nostrils
  2. Repeat

Is Permatan Nasal Spray Safe?

Sadly not, Permatan is not safe to be inhaled. It contains a hormone called melanotan II. Melanotan has the potential to cause several health concerns, including: prolonged and painful erections, gastrointestinal symptoms and melanoma, a potentially life-threatening skin cancer.

Meanwhile, it isn’t approved or regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Since the FDA doesn’t regulate Permatan, you have no way to know for sure if the composition of the product you purchase actually matches the ingredients on the label.

Does Permatan Really Tan The Body Permanently?

Absolutely not! No tan should persist for years. Just like the saying ‘If it is too good to be true, it certainly isn’t. A reverse image search shows that the images on permatan.co have been used by similar nasal spray websites. This proves that the before and after pictures are not real.

Meanwhile it is quite suspicious that the product has only 5 star and 4 star customer ratings. It isn’t possible that it doesn’t have a single negative review.

Conclusion

Permatan is a viral tanning nasal spray that is been sold with false claims. Meanwhile it isn’t FDA approved nor safe to use. Tanning nasal spray simply isn’t a good option for tanning. Your safest bet is to stick with approved alternatives to tanning, like bronzer, self-tanner, and spray tan

  1. But permatan doesn’t contain Melontan 2. Otherwise know as alpha MSH. While I am skeptical of this product, it clearly states on the website that this is not an ingredient. So I’m wondering where everyone is getting that info? I’ve seen the same statement on other websites and blogs. A quick read of the Permatan site contradicts that…..

  2. it doesnt contain melanotan 1 or 2 though. Did you even read the list of ingredients?

    T-oligos, BMT diol , Tyrosinase-related protein 1, 1,25-(OH)2-vitamin D3 are the ingredients.
