Hengle v. Asner case is a civil lawsuit where George Hengle and some others are going up against Scott Asner, Joshua Landy, and a bunch of tribal officials. They’re saying these people hooked them up with some loans that had crazy-high interest rates. And get this, the loans were under the names Golden Valley Lending, Silver Cloud Financial, Mountain Summit Financial, and Majestic Lake Financial. These are like tribal entities tied to the Habematolel Pomo of Upper Lake, a Native American tribe.

Who Is Eligible For Hengel vs Asner Settlement

The settling defendants include at seven tribal individuals and four non-tribal. The complaint alleged that the loans were made a higher interest rates than permitted under their respective state laws, and/or that the lenders did not have the proper license to engage in lending in certain jurisdictions, which made the loans unfair, illegal, or unenforceable. If you’re living in the US and you’ve signed a loan deal with Golden Valley, Silver Cloud, or Majestic Lake, or even with Mountain Summit before February 1, 2021, you might be in the running for something.
